how to calculate salary from grade pay

Basic Pay
2. Grade Pay
3. Dearness Allowance
4. House Rent Allowance
5. miscellaneous allowances

Formula:

Total Salary = Basic pay or Entry Pay + Dearness Allowance (42% w.e.f. January 2023) + House Rent Allowance (HRA @9/18/27 % of Basic pay) + other allowances
Net in Hand Salary: Total Salary – Deductions
Deductions: 10% for NPS, remaining taxes as applicable

Grade Pay

(Rs 1800/- or whatever it is) : Apart from basic pay, government employees receive grade pay which depends on the category/class of employee.

DA=110% HRA=20% MA=40%

Gross monthly salary 1st year

(5200+1800)+(7000*1.10)+(7000*0.2)+(7000*0.4) = 18900

5200+1800=7000

18900/5200=3.63X Than Basic pay.

 

Thumb Rule: If your Basic pay is 5000 Then Gross salary is 20000. 

after deductions like ESIC, EPF , TDS, Pension schemes you net salary or salary in hand calculated.
