10+2 with 50% marks or Senior Secondary with 50% marks from a recognized Board of School Education and 2 years Junior Basic (JBT) Teacher‟s course/Diploma in Elementary Education(D.EI.Ed.) from an Institute affiliated to HP Board of School Education(HPBOSE). OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2 years Junior Basic Teacher (JBT)/Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed.) (by whatever name known). OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45 % marks and 2 years Junior Basic Teacher (JBT)/Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed.) (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure ) Regualtions,2002. OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 % marks and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed.). OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 % marks and 2 years Diploma in Education(Special Education). OR Graduation and two years Junior Basic Teacher (JBT)/ Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed) (by whatever name known). And ii) Pass in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for Class I-V, to be conducted by an authority designated by the HP State Government. A candidate shall be eligible for appointment to Class-III post(s), if, he/she has passed Matriculation and 10+2 from any School/Institution situated within Himachal Pradesh. Provided this condition shall not apply to Bonafide Himachalis. Note: 1) The selection process shall be carried out in accordance with R&P Rules r/w NCTE |

According to the notification issued by NCTE on 29-6-2018, B.Ed people will also be eligible for JBT posts, but within 2 years after appointment, it will be mandatory for them to do a 6-month bridge course. .
